Dutch immigrant arriving in 1730 in New York. After a stay in New Jearsey he came to
Frederick County, Maryland. He was a blacksmith and had 5 sons. John (changed his
name to Koontz) Abraham, Henry, Jacob and George (1735-1817) both were a blacksmith.
